Last weekend I attended a Tae Kwon Do Tournament in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I didn't win first or second place, but I was content to leave with the bronze medal. You can click on the image to see a better-quality picture of it.
As you can see, I have already have some other trophies on my mantle....
So what makes a third-place medal so special??? Well, let's take a closer look at a few of those other trophies on my mantle....
You might need to click on each of the images to enlarge them so you can read the engraving.
My mantle brings to mind a quote by Robert DeNiro in Meet The Fockers: "I've never seen anyone celebrate mediocrity the way you people do."
So just because not all my trophies (uh, actually none of my trophies) are first place trophies, they're still mine and I earned every one of them (Well, except for the tallest one that my buddy, Dan gave me). Nevertheless, I plan on competing in a lot more tournaments and I know I'll eventually earn a first place medal that I can be proud of.

Hey Dave,
Are the trophies on the left for bowling or discus?
